About
I'm David E. Goodman, MD, MSE
After a lot of reflection and reviewing how I interact with my patients, I have made the decision to move my private practice to a membership-only annual fee model in order to continue to provide the access and availability that my patients have come to expect and appreciate. This allows me to keep my private practice size small enough to focus on my patients' health as well as helps to cover time consuming but important uncompensated activities like correspondence, arranging referrals, updates with specialists, researching new treatments or procedures, phone calls to discuss results, texts, availability at off hours, etc. The biggest benefit is having the time to work closely with you as your doctor as well as your go-to health and wellness resource.
There are no additional fees from my office during the year other than reimbursement of extraordinary expenses, e.g travel vaccinations and on a case by case basis, house calls. You continue to use your health insurance to defray the cost of expensive services such as laboratory testing, imaging studies, specialist care, emergency room visits, hospitalizations, surgery or major procedures.
Depending upon the issue, I am available for face to face appointments for checkups, administrative medical exams and for illnesses and injuries (weekend if needed) as well as virtually by phone, Skype, text, email, etc. You receive my mobile number and I am easily reachable for assistance, even if you are traveling overseas. I have a strong interest in travel medicine and can help you with travel-related health issues, especially if you decide to go off-grid or travel to more remote locations.
I am also proud to serve as the primary treating physician for any current or retired first responder (fire, law enforcement, EMS, etc) injured in the line of duty who chooses to entrust his or her care to me and my team. I am credentialed with most of the major worker’s compensation insurance companies in California including State Fund (SCIF), the carrier for the California Highway Patrol.
The practice information technology and electronic health record infrastructure is completely cloud-based, you can request appointments online and I make extensive use of digital health technologies. I also provide a full range of administrative medical exams for FAA, USCIS, DOT/FMCSA and USCG.
I have been a resident of Marin County for 23 years and my wife Marilyn and I have raised our three sons here. We are both active in the community and I currently serve as the President of the Marin Council of the Boy Scouts of America. We are the proud parents of three Eagle Scouts.
